New Ad

As we talked about Sunday night, we have placed an ad with Front Door Advertising. They are a company that prints and distributes door hangers with multiple ads on them. They are going to be placed on 15,000 homes in Rowlett. We are also in the process of getting a temporary sign up on our property. We are excited about getting more visibility so that people know that we are here for them.

If you have friends that don't live in Rowlett you can download this ad and insert it into an e-mail to send to them. Let's get the word out about our Easter service, March 23 at 2pm.

Peace.

Our BIG project

Hey people,

As we have talked over the past few months about putting a more tangible emphasis on serving, we now have something that we as a church can sink our teeth into. As I sat and listened to Teresa Jackson share about her ministry and how over the course of a year she helps over 35,000 people, I thought to myself, "Who helps the person that spends their whole life focused on others?". The answer that I came up with is... US! So beginning Saturday, February 2nd we are going to start a major remodel of her facilities.

Sharing Life's facilities need this in the most desperate of ways. I also wanted the job that we do to be on a professional level. So we are going to replace all the peeling up vinyl flooring with ceramic tile, and all the plastic base boards with real wood base boards. We are going to replace all the ceiling tiles that are yellowed and covered with old mismatched paint colors with new ones. We are going to prime and paint all walls and doors. As Brad Bloomer put it, when we leave there it needs to look like a Doctors office. So lace up your work boots, and put on those old work clothes and lets get ready for a few Saturdays spent together changing someones situation for the better! More details will be forth coming this week!

Peace,

jono

(a brief) History of Man

Why are we here? What happened to get us to this point? What does God and Jesus have to do with my current situation?

These are questions that we will answer in this new series that we are kicking off on February 10, where we will focus on why we're in the mess we're in.

You'll also receive the official "History of Man" Study Guide that includes scriptures following God's attempts to show us His love. Each scripture is followed by questions that will help us find our place in the story.

If you'd like to join us, we will go through the questions together and hear a short lesson on Sunday nights, at 5pm, from Feb. 17-Mar. 16. Click here for directions.

For those of you that can't join us physically, you can join us virtually at the official blogsite: abriefhistoryofman.net. Post your thoughts and questions as we journey together.

The weekly lessons are:

Feb. 10 - Fall of Man

Feb. 17 - Call of Man

Feb. 24 - Grumbling of Man

Mar. 2 - Anointing of Man

Mar. 9 - Raising of Man

Mar. 16 - Passion of Christ

Hope you can join us.

Peace

Fourth Preview Recap

We are so thankful to Still Water Community Church for letting us use their facility. It was a great blessing to not have to set all our stuff up. We had about 40 again with 11 first time guests, 9 of which was from one family. Levi finished out the core values with Serve using the story of Esther as his example of putting it all on the line for someone else.

We opened with Gotta Serve Somebody, which is an old Bob Dylan tune but was redone by Nichole Nordeman, which was the version we used. For the congregational singing we did Marvelous Light, by Charlie Hall, my new song Be Your Grace, and the David Crowder*Band song Glory of it All. It was a great time of worship and people were involved.

Thanks so much for everyone pitching in and for those that praying for us.

We have one more monthly on Feb. 10 and then we go weekly on Easter Sunday, Mar. 23.

Peace
